David and Emily were married on Saturday in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the city’s historical City Hall with a beautiful reception at Davio’s in downtown Philadelphia. The whole day was like something out of a storybook. We started the day at the gorgeous Hotel Palomar in downtown Philly, where Emily and her friends were busy getting ready all under the watchful eye of Emily’s adorable pup, Minnie, who was none too keen about the videographer boys being near her mama (haha!). Then the boys from Something Blue Films and I went outside to get creative with Emily’s dress and the details. I always love working with Andrew and Zach because not only do they do an amazing job on the finished product of their video, but their eye of creative angles and posing is impeccable. You can see below how dedicated they are to the shot below as Andrew literally lifted Zach up to put Emily’s dress on a street sign, haha!
My favorite part of the entire day though was after the ceremony when we went to the middle of the courtyard in city hall to get just a few more shots and this magical scene happened — The courtyard of Philadelphia’s city hall is surrounded by buildings with 4 archway entrances, the result is a magical echo and an almost buzz of electricity from being in the center of the city yet tucked away in such a historical location. As David and Emily walked to the middle of the courtyard the violinist that had been playing for passing tourists became their own personal symphony as he contributed his gorgeous melodies to the magical moment in the making. David and Emily only had eyes for each other as they slow danced to Pachelbel’s Canon in D while a small gathering of tourists all watched in silence as this breathtaking moment unfolded. The air was filled with overwhelming joy as the universal languages of love and music and dancing reminded everyone just how powerful a true love like David and Emily’s is. I had goosebumps as I circled the lovely couple to capture the moment and I definitely teared up when I could see that David and Emily had recognized this was more than just a photo op and were actively soaking in this unforgettable moment as well. I will never forget this moment.
David and Emily – Thank you for trusting me to capture this day for you. Just spending this one day with you both I am confident that your love is one to last the ages. I wish you both every happiness, you truly deserve that and so much more. <3
